Duties and Responsibilities: Health information
management specialists help protect the privacy and ensure the accuracy of
patients' medical records. They frequently have roles in billing and diagnostic
coding, as well. HIM specialists typically have an associate's degree in health
information management as well as earn certification as a Registered Health
Information Technician (RHIT).
Salary: $37,710 per year.
Education: Health Information
Specialist needs to be familiar with basic vocabulary and insurance coding
techniques. Many employers hire candidates that have earned an associate’s
degree I health information management.
Reflection: I would not like to be one of this because it needs to be more with
computer and I really not familiar with computer, but at the same time I would
like to be one this because I could help others people and protect their
security or privacy.
