Presidents Day
Monday February 16
Presidents’ Day is an American holiday. Originally established in
1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially
called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. The purpose is to
honor the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures. It
celebrated on the third Monday in February. To honor these figures is to cook
some of their favorites food such like George Washington liked it like spice
cakes with sugared almond paste, macaroons and fruit pies of all sorts, or like
Abraham Lincoln like such like eggs and bacon or cook cornbread and venison.
